Gabriel Flores ya es\u00a0oficialmente Cronista del municipio que le vio nacer: Vera.<\/b> Un reconocimiento a su labor como autor y divulgador de numerosos art\u00edculos de tradiciones y costumbres de la Ciudad de Vera de la que adem\u00e1s ha escrito varios libros de historia sobre las instituciones y sobre sus calles. Este martes se celebr\u00f3 la sesi\u00f3n Plenaria que de forma un\u00e1nime nombr\u00f3 al veratense como nuevo cronista municipal.<\/p>\n

Un nombramiento bien merecido ya que, entre otras cosas, Flores se ha encargado de organizar y participar en numerosos actos de divulgaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica en la localidad,<\/b> en los que ha demostrado con creces su cari\u00f1o por la historia y por el pueblo de vera. As\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n ha examinado los vetustos y abundantes fondos documentales del importante Archivo Hist\u00f3rico Municipal. Recopilando historias y fotograf\u00edas, una tarea que ha resultado \u201cdeterminante\u201d, para que el actual Equipo de Gobierno le propusiera como Cronista Oficial de la Ciudad de Vera.<\/p>\n

El reci\u00e9n nombrado cronista reconoci\u00f3 que cuando lleg\u00f3 al archivo municipal a penas pod\u00eda descifrar los escritos que encontraba, debido a la complejidad de la escritura antigua. Finalmente con pasi\u00f3n y esfuerzo Gabriel lleg\u00f3 a tener entre sus manos documentos firmados por los propios Reyes Cat\u00f3licos<\/b>, algo que el protagonista sinti\u00f3 de forma especial. \u00abVera no estaba en el centro de Castilla pero se coc\u00edan muchas cosas <\/b>y hay muchos documentos importantes\u00bb, revelaba en su discurso.<\/p>\n

El protagonista puso de manifiesto la riqueza hist\u00f3rica del municipio donde asegur\u00f3 que, \u00abVera ha vivido un acontecimiento importante en cada siglo\u00bb<\/b>, as\u00ed mismo rese\u00f1\u00f3 que cada uno de estos momentos va acompa\u00f1ado de algo que al parecer gusta mucho a los veratenses: las leyendas. Incluso la creaci\u00f3n de la nueva Ciudad tras el gran terremoto tiene su leyenda en base a la frase de que fue construida \u00aba tiro de ballesta\u00bb, llegando a elucubrar que fuera la propia reina Isabel de Castilla la que se subiera al Cerro del Esp\u00edritu Santo para lanza una flecha que habr\u00eda ca\u00eddo en la mism\u00edsima plaza Mayor actual.<\/p>\n

Una an\u00e9cdota que Gabriel recordaba entre risas debido a lo descabellado del asunto ya que la propia Reina de Castilla habr\u00eda fallecido a\u00f1os antes del suceso. Sin embargo, Flores insisti\u00f3 a sus vecinos <\/b>en lo importante de visitar el Archivo Hist\u00f3rico Municipal de Vera,<\/b> \u00abaunque sea solo una vez, para quitar el gusanillo\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Flores naci\u00f3 en 1952 en el n\u00famero 59 de la calle Mayor de Vera y a pesar de que su vida profesional ha transcurrido en entidades bancarias, siempre ha sido un apasionado de la historia,<\/b> afici\u00f3n a la que pudo dedicarse de lleno tras su jubilaci\u00f3n en 2010, momento en el que comenz\u00f3 a visitar el archivo municipal de vera y a investigar manuscritos de la edad media y todo tipo de documentos antiguos, convirti\u00e9ndose en un gran investigador y pale\u00f3grafo o lector de escritura antigua.<\/p>\n

Alfonso Garc\u00eda, alcalde de Vera,<\/b> reconoci\u00f3 que este es \u201cun nombramiento m\u00e1s que merecido por la important\u00edsima labor que Gabriel Flores viene realizando<\/b> para rescatar, mantener y conservar el\u00a0 legado hist\u00f3rico, art\u00edstico y cultural de\u00a0 Vera\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mostramos a los cronistas oficiales de los que se tiene noticia hoy y que ostentaron dicho t\u00edtulo (informaci\u00f3n y redacci\u00f3n de Magdalena Arias y Manuel Caparr\u00f3s):<\/p>\n

DON EUSEBIO GARRES SEGURA<\/u> (nacido en Baza, 1868- fallecido en Somont\u00edn en 1937, maestro en Vera desde 1887 hasta 1917, a\u00f1o en el que se traslada a la ciudad de Almer\u00eda), fue nombrado cronista oficial de Vera el 4 de septiembre de 1908<\/b> (folio 39 recto de las Actas Capitulares de Vera). Fue adem\u00e1s escritor, historiador, obteniendo la medalla de la Orden Civil de Alfonso XII (1909), y siendo designado como hijo adoptivo de Vera en 1926.<\/p>\n

DON JUAN ANTONIO MECA <\/u>Y <\/u>JIM\u00c9NEZ<\/u> (nacido en Vera, <\/strong>23-03-<\/strong>1876 – <\/strong>fallece en <\/strong>Vera <\/strong>12-10-1929<\/strong>). <\/strong>Publicista, poeta y comedi\u00f3grafo. Su familia era natural de Cuevas del Almanzora. Suponemos que fue nombrado cronista oficial de Vera entre el a\u00f1o 1917<\/strong> (fecha de traslado de don Eusebio Garres Segura a la ciudad de Almer\u00eda) y 1929, a\u00f1o de su fallecimiento. La fuente documental en la que se puede leer que fue cronista oficial de Vera es el semanario regional denominado El Almanzora<\/i>, de fecha 23\/11\/1929, en un art\u00edculo escrito por su amigo, el cronista de Cuevas del Almanzora, don Miguel Flores Gonz\u00e1lez – Grano de Oro.<\/p>\n

DON JUAN <\/u>ANTONIO <\/u>CUADRADO RUIZ<\/u> (Vera, 14-02-1886 – Almer\u00eda, 1952). Fue arque\u00f3logo y primer director del Museo Provincial. Fue nombrado cronista oficial de Vera el d\u00eda 21 de marzo de 1933<\/strong> (seg\u00fan el peri\u00f3dico Cr\u00f3nica Meridional<\/i>), aunque no se ha encontrado el acuerdo durante esas sesiones en los libros de Pleno del Ayuntamiento de Vera.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Flores is now officially Chronicler of the municipality where he was born: Vera. A recognition of his work as author and disseminator of numerous articles on traditions and customs of the City of Vera, of which he has also written several history books about the institutions and its streets.
